Carlos d'Aragona Balhana - Alumnus
Carlos joined the lab in 2010 after receiving his M.S. in theoretical linguistics from Georgetown and is currently a PhD student in the same program. In addition to his work in the lab, Carlos also works as a Strategic Development Expert at the Georgetown Imaging Science and Information Systems (ISIS) Center, developing ontologies and natural language processing (NLP) tools. His research interests are in formal semantics, logic, and philosophy of language, along with their applications to neuroscience and computer science. Carlos is currently working with Dr. Green on an fMRI study of semantic and analogical reasoning in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In his free time, he enjoys racquetball, kayaking, and anxiously waking up in the middle of the night to watch live soccer games.
