Mariela Cruz - Research Assistant

Mariela joined the lab in the spring of 2025 as a freshman. She is a prospective Science, Technology, and International Affairs (STIA) major on the pre-law track. Although her research interests are still developing, she has worked on projects exploring the development of optimal metamaterial structures and using physiological biometrics to detect physical attraction. Currently, she is interested in the Greens Lab’s Geospatial Semester and Creativity in Admissions projects. Overall, Mariela is fascinated by how the findings from these projects can be applied to improve learning outcomes. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, cooking, and exploring Washington, D.C.
